Always say no

Carl has worked at the same cargo company at Schiphol Airport for many years. He started there on the forklift and progressed to the office, with a small team to manage. Together they work like a well-oiled machine. Every day they move tons of cargo, and that gives them a kick. To blow off steam, most of the team likes to smoke a cigarette. They do so outside, beyond the entrance gate, on a main road.

One day, a big car stops at Carl and his colleagues.

'Good morning guys. '

Carl resolutely approaches the driver and says: 'Not interested sir. '

“You haven't even heard my proposal.”

'Not interested. Just keep driving. '

The driver gives Carl a cold look at him briefly, but then drives on. Orlando, Carl's colleague, says teasingly:

‍'Didn't you want to know what he was going to say? I mean, how long have you been saving up for that Asia trip?'

‍'You shouldn't give that kind of guy a chance, Orlando'

‍'No, sure not... But haven't you ever fantasized about it? Make a slap once?'

'I earn my money doing honest work. And it's never once with people like that. They always want more. ' ‍
